Marlin 1895GS. This is one gun I very much want to add to my collection. Lever action, caliber .45-70 Government, with a short 18” barrel to make it a “guide gun.” A gun like this can take almost any game in the world, and the short barrel makes it a great defensive weapon in the woods or out. I’m not currently a hunter, but I would probably become one if I got this gun… (note on the 45-70. I stated that the 1895 could take almost any game in the world, but with the right bullet and powder charge it likely can take the most dangerous game on the planet, however, 45-70 is not considered one of the African dangerous game cartridges.)
